    These 5 vintage metal thimbles all have open tops.  From left to right, approximate measurements are as follows:
    16.5mm tall marked "Germany 6" - 13.7mm inside diameter at base - 10mm inside diameter at top. Plated brass
    16.5mm tall, marked "16" - 16.4mm inside diameter at base - 13.1mm inside diameter at top. Steel
    16.7mm tall, marked "17" - 17.1mm inside diameter at base - 13.5mm inside diameter at top. Steel
    19.1mm tall, unmarked - 18.5mm inside diameter at base - 14.9mm inside diameter at top. White metal not attracted to magnet. Possibly plated.
    16.6mm tall, marked "2" - 17mm inside diameter at base - 14mm inside diameter at top. Antique steel.
