Description
This photo is an excellent quality black & white 8” x 10” glossy new photo reproduction of a 1964 MACK B-61 Diesel Tandem-Axle Dump Truck.”SAMPLE” will not appear on your photo, it is only on the scanned image.
DESCRIPTION: I purchased my original photo of this B-61 Model Mack Tandem-Axle Dump Truck back in 2008 for my personal collection, but only got around to listing it for sale in 2016. While I can’t be sure, I believe it to be a B-61 Model. “October 1964” is written on the back of my original photo. Thermodyne Diesel is easily readable on the side of the hood. The Mack looks to be brand new, from the condition of the tires and mud flaps, and overall cleanliness of the truck. I don’t know the location of the photo, or the make of the dump body.
If you would recognize the manufacturer of the dump body, I’d appreciate hearing from you.
MACK B-61: Mack introduced the new B Series of trucks in the Spring of 1953, producing them until 1966. The diesel powered B-61 Mack was by far the most popular of the B Series, producing some 47,459 over its 13-year lifetime, until finally phased out by the Mack R Model in 1965-66. Fully rounded fenders, hood and cab, resulted in an eye-catching design for the entire B Series. The new cab had improved ventilation, lighting, a V-type windshield, better instrumentation, and better access to the engine compartment. A new END-673 Thermodyne Diesel Engine was also introduced in March 1953, rated at 170-hp and 205-hp in the turbocharged version, really making the Mack diesel truck models far more economical and dependable.
