1949 RCA Model Model 66X13 Antique Radio Fully Restored!

Description

1949 RCA Model Model 66X13 Antique Radio Fully Restored!. This is a 6 tube AC/DC Superheterodyne set (105-125 volts, 30 watts).  It has broadcast band only.  It has been recapped and out of spec resistors replaced.  Weak tubes have been replaced.  Cabinet has been refinished and the dial is in outstanding condition.  There is one small blemish on the right side of the cabinet (see photos).

If you are not familiar with antique radios, you should know that the safety of these radios is not up to modern standards.  For this reason, I recommend you leave the radio unplugged or on a power strip that can be turned on and off when not in use.  I do this with my own radios.  Use the built in antenna for reception or a long wire (there is a connection wire on the back of the chassis--see photos).  NEVER USE A GROUND WIRE ON A AC/DC SET.  The chassis on a AC/DC set is also considered "hot" and you can get a shock if you don't know what you are doing, so please don't try to service this radio yourself.  Having said that, you should have a good working radio if you purchase this set, though the electronic condition is not guaranteed.  It is warrantied that it will not be "dead on arrival," however.
