Description

This photo is an excellent high quality 8” x 10” black & white glossy new photo reproduction of a handsome 1949 MACK LTSW Six-Wheel Truck & Full-Trailer owned by CHANLEY BROS. LIVESTOCK TRANSPORTATION, BAKERSFIELD, California.
”SAMPLE” will not appear on your photo, it is only on the scanned image.
DESCRIPTION: This Mack LTSW (“SW” meaning Six-Wheeler, which is what many truck manufacturer called tandems in the early days) truck carries a livestock body, and pulls a livestock 3-axle full-trailer. 1949 was the last year that Mack used the louvered hood.  This same photo appears on page 90 of Ron Adams’
MACK TRUCKS
book.
MACK LT SERIES:  After WWII, the LT Series was developed to conform to Western states weight and size restrictions.  Generally longer in wheelbase and hood length, these beautiful trucks became a unique part of the scenery on Western highways. A further development was the LTL version, in which the replacement of steel parts (in the LTH) with aluminum realized a weight savings of over a ton.  A variety of engines were offered, with the 707-cid Mack Thermodyne gasoline engine, and a variety of Cummins diesel engines being the most popular.  A total of 2,009 LT models were built between 1947 and 1956.
CONDITION: This outstanding black & white glossy photo is a newly reproduced photo from a photo in my personal lifetime collection.  This photo has been printed on excellent quality HP PREMIUM GLOSSY PHOTO PAPER using Original HP 64 Inks, producing a professional quality photo that resists fading over 100 years ... the best money can buy.  This 8x10 photo has a white border around the photo.
