    Description

This is a 1942 Philco AM and Shortwave radio receiver. I got this in 1972 and repaired the damaged burl(may be the wrong term) veneer, sanded and refinished with Swedish oil, painted the exterior trim and interior with dark brown enamel. The speaker was torn so I removed it, intending to get a replacement. It never happened. The radio worked in 1972 with garbled sound from the bad speaker. With some cleaning it should still work if a replacement speaker can be found. The tuning scale display needle still works on its pulleys with a dental floss-like movement mechanism. The painted glass tuning scale is in poor condition. The original band of burl(?) veneer was replaced with walnut veneer. Philco logo and control labeling are gone. Interior labels are intact.
