1940 Zenith 10S464 10 Tube Console AM Shortwave Radio Refurbished Sounds Great!

Description

Recently acquired from an estate in Cincinnati OH.  I am a Certified Electronic Technician with endorsements in Professional Audio and Consumer Electronics and for 28 years operated a successful consumer electronics repair business in the greater Cincinnati area.
The radio has been carefully cleaned and serviced.  All tubes were tested and the weak 6U5 tuning eye tube was replaced with a NOS replacement.  The filter capacitors have been replaced as well as some leaky paper capacitors.  A new AC line cord has been installed.  The IF transformer alignment was touched up and all switch contacts were cleaned and lubricated with silicone contact cleaner.
The cabinet is all original including the grille cloth which is very unusual for a set this age.  There are several small spots where the finish was slightly discolored from moisture (The unit was rescued from a barn).  I elected not to refinish the entire cabinet as the damage is very minor and does not significantly detract from the overall appearance of the radio.
