1939 World's Fair - Gulf Oil - Road Map

Description

This is a terrific 1939 NYC area road map featuring the 1939 World's Fair.  I've carefully accessed the images shown which include the Worlds Fair footprint and a few other points of interest (see images).  Missing on this map is the Cross Bronx Expressway, The BQE, The Throgs Neck Bridge, Cross Island Parkway, Idewild Airport, Kennedy Airport, or the Long Island Expressway... they weren't around yet.
You might see LaGuardia Airport which opened in 1939.... It's amazing how anyone got around!
This is a very enjoyable map to read and a interesting snapshot of 1939.
