1939 New York World’s Fair Trylon Perisphere Photo Holder Souvenir Item.
Item is a souvenir from the 1939 World’s Fair held in New York City.
Item shows the Trylon and Perisphere the central symbols of the Fair in gold colored metal affixed to a blue metal frame. Has © New York World’s Fair 1939 in engraved block letters below the two items. The Perishpere opens up, by means of a tiny hinge, so that one or two (one on each side) small pictures orphotographs could be inserted.
Or, it ispossible that there were pictures of the Fair already in there.
Somebody with more knowledge than me willhave to make that determination. Item measures 1 7/8” x 1.5”.
The diameter of the photo area is 5/8”.Overall the item is Very Good with strong luster.
There is some overall wear and some surfacescratching to the gold coloring of the metal.
NOTE:
There is no means ofaffixing this to one’s clothing.
Whatever was used, such as a pin clasp, is long gone.
