This was the most deluxe model of these highly Art Deco and stylized tombstones. These are considered to be a connoisseur blue chip model. This was the very best model ever produced by this gilt edge maker. The radio is a real stunning use of mixed exotic veneers, the face out of Birdseye Maple, striped Mahogany and American Walnut with a gloss black lacquer top and base.
The 7-tube chassis featured standard broadcast and three short wave bands. At a suggested list price of .50, it was an expensive set.
It featured the Stewart-Warner "Magic Dial". While not exactly magic, it was unusual in the way the dial scale slid up and down so that only the calibrations for the selected band were visible in the arc-shaped dial opening. It offered AM broadcast, police, airplane, ships, amateur, and foreign short wave broadcast listening. This radio offers continuous coverage from 550 kilocycles to 23 megacycles in four bands. Truly an "all wave" set.
It includes the original fabric covered power cord and two prong Bake-O-Lite decorative plug.
The only things I could find wrong with it are the cosmetic scratches, the cloth grill wear as seen in the photo, and the tuner dial doesn’t want to move much (probably a belt or something). There is also a couple of electric lines in the cabinet on the left side that are not connected to anything, and I am not sure what they are for. The tuning knob is chipped, and there is an old screw holding the band selector knob on.
Measures 19-1/2"H x 14"W x 13"D.
