1930s Earl Mgf. Co. permanent magnet dynamic speaker & grill

Description

An unusual permanent magnet dynamic loudspeaker from the 1930s, by "Earl Manufacturing Co" of London, England. The speaker assembly includes a rotary switch(?), output transformer, and capacitor. The grill board measure about 15" x 15" and the speaker is a little over 8" across (about a 7" cone). The metal bits have some paint loss and corrosion; the fabric bits have some holes and fraying; and the wood bits have some wear and damage (including some finish wear and damage). The wood knob over the switch(?) shaft is not original and does not function (seems decorative only).
The speaker makes noise when a voltage is applied to the primary side of the transformer, but is otherwise untested. It is sold as-is.
