1930’s MAJESTIC CHARLIE MCCARTHY BAKELITE RADIO -ORIGINAL MONOCLE -RESTORE/PARTS

This auction is for a late 1930’s MAJESTIC CHARLIE McCARTHY BAKELITE RADIO.
This is a fantastic old radio for display in any collection. The original monocle is what makes this radio particularly rare. When I was researching, almost all radios we’re missing the monocle or had reproduction monocles made. Please note that Charlie is missing paint in multiple places as shown in the photos.
The Bakelite case has no cracks in it, which is also pretty rare. However, it received a little bit of white paint splatter on the top. I made sure to include pictures of the top from two angles so that you could see this clearly.
The two dials turn as expected. The top dial moves the line across the top to find the right station. I am not sure what the bottom dial is for, but it turns.
It still has the original label on the back that points out the model number one. It looks like it is serial number 156027. There is also a longer code etched into the back. It looks like it reads IL058-2669A.
As you can clearly see from the photos, this is not in working condition. It looks like the power cord was cut, and it is missing some tubes. This radio is being sold AS IS for a RESTORE, DISPLAY or PARTS. Condition is “Used”.
As you can also see, the back is missing. While researching, I found that there are reproductions that could be purchased and added to the back. I did not remove the chassis to see what else is going on inside the radio. I did notice that the four screws that hold the bakelite shell to the chassis on the bottom are missing. You can see that they are missing in the photo of the bottom of the radio.
