    Description
This is an original (one-of-a-kind) gelatin silver photograph [3-1/4" x 2-5/8"] ~ captioned "Rosa & Gaines" (and Gaines is holding a small dog in his lap)
I found both of these individuals on the 1910 Knoxville, Tennessee Federal Census ~ her name was Rosa English; his name was Gaines Armbrister (also spelled Gains); for several years they were live-in servants at the home of Dr. Charles H. Davis and his wife Hortense (the photographer), who lived at 1404 Laurel Ave., Knoxville ~ [note: by the 1920 census, the widowed Hortense was living in Norfolk, VA]
~ In VERY GOOD condition, but is still adhered to part of the album page, with another photo on verso side [2 women ice skating at Chilhowee Park, Knoxville]
