  • Condition: USED: Good Condition overall, only thing is the GN top script insignia is a little filled in with silver. This I believe is a early triple plate piece that is rare and very hard to find.

    Description

    Offered is an Antique ~ Collectible ~ RARE ~ GN Great Northern Railway - Silver Dining Car Service Butter Pat ~ Top Intertwined GN in script lettering; bottom Hallmarked: GREAT NORTHERN RY. ~ 1847 ROGERS BROS. ~ SX0245 ~ SILVER SOLDERED.  Beaded edge is around the 1860's era.  Measures 2-11/16" square X 7-16" tall.  Last photo insignia is off of the beaded GN Bowl I have listed, not this butter Pat, but it is the same backstop, just not very legible on this item.
    The Rogers Brothers helped start the Silver Electro-Plating process in 1847 in Hartford, and were helped in 1852 by the Meridan Britannia Co. financially to be successful.  From 1862 to 1867, The Meridan Britannia Co. & Rogers Bros were fully merged into The Meridan Britannia Co.  Item ships flat rate .50 USPS Priority Mail.  Offered as is as shown in photos so use zoom for more detail to determine condition for yourself.  Please check out my other Dining Car & RR items on eBay, Thanks for looking!
